S = Power of the current transformer (typically 2.5 VA)

d = Distance (length of cableway) between filter and current transformer

v = Twisting factor (typically 1.5)

I = Secondary current of the current transformer (typically 5 A)

Each filter module has a terminal to connect 3 wires (485+, 485-, GND_0) to the bus system.
Connect all the components on this communication bus with screened 3 pole wires in accordance to the serial communication
guidelines:
As short as possible and direct from filter to filter, no central point of connection. Maximum overall wire length < 5 m.

Appropriate distances or metal cable duct to separate from power wiring to respect general EMC-guidelines for laying wires in
l
electrical installation.
Connect the screen of the cables to the GND_0 terminal in harsh environments.

When applying the HMI, the integrated converter shall be used and no additional converter is needed nor recommended. If a RS485 to
USB converter is used to connect a PC or other equipment it is important, that this converter is equipped with FTDI-chip set for proper
connection.

The filter also operates in 4-wire systems. Additional steps:
1.
Install a 3rd CT on phase L2/phase B.
2.
Connect the neutral wire to the mains terminal.
3.
In the PC tool for the filter, adjust the grid topology to 3P4W.
