The vehicle has a metal bivalent catalytic
muffler (platinum, rhodium).
This device is used to oxidize CO (carbon
oxide) and the HC (uncombusted hydro-
carbides) present in the exhaust fumes,
converting them into carbon dioxide and
steam, respectively.
The high temperatures reached by the
exhaust fumes through the catalytic proc-
ess allows the burning of oil particles,
keeping the muffler clean, and eliminat-
ing smoky exhaust.
To keep the catalytic convertor function-
ing for a long time, and to minimize pos-
sible problems with the exhaust and
internal engine parts, avoid riding for long
periods at low gears.

Le véhicule version catalytique est doté
d'un silencieux avec catalyseur métalli-
que de type "bivalent au platine-rho-
dium".
Un tel dispositif a pour rôle d'oxyder le
CO (oxyde de carbone) et les HC (hydro-
carbures imbrûlés) présents dans les gaz
d'échappement, en les transformant res-
pectivement en anhydride carbonique et
vapeur d'eau.
La haute température atteinte par les gaz
d'échappement, sous l'effet de la réaction
catalytique, permet en outre de brûler les
particules d'huiles, en maintenant le si-
lencieux propre et en éliminant la fumée
d'échappement.
