seat, being careful not to let dust
or other substances into the cyl-
inder.
Check that spark plug electrode
and the central porcelain insula-
tor are free of carbon deposits or
signs of corrosion; if necessary,
clean it with a suitable spark
plug cleaner, a wire and/or met-
al brush.
Blow with a strong blast of air so
that no removed deposit gets in-
to the engine. Replace the spark
plug if there are cracks on the
spark plug insulating material,
corroded electrodes or large de-
posits.
Check the electrode gap with a
thickness gauge. If the value is
not correct, fold the earth elec-
trode carefully.
Make sure the washer is in good
conditions. Fit the washer and
then tighten the spark plug man-
ually to avoid damaging the
thread.
Tighten using the spanner sup-
plied with the toolkit and make
the spark plug complete 1/2 turn
to press the washer.
Spark plug tightening torque: 20 Nm (2
kgm).

RECTLY, OTHERWISE THE ENGINE

Verwijder al het vuil van de basis
van de bougie, draai ze los met
de in de gereedschapskit bijge-
leverde sleutel, en verwijder ze
van de zit door op te letten om
geen stof of andere stoffen in de
cilinder te laten komen.
Controleer of de elektrode en
het centrale porcelein van de
bougie geen koolstofafzettingen
of corrosietekens vertonen, en
reinig ze eventueel met speciale
reinigers voor bougies, met een
ijzerdraad en/of metalen borstel.
Reinig goed met een luchtstraal,
zodat de verwijderde afzettin-
gen niet in de motor terecht ko-
men. Wanneer de bougie
scheuren op de isolering, ver-
roeste elektroden of excesieve
afzettingen vertoont, moet ze
vervangen worden.
Controleer met een diktemeter
de afstand tussen de elektro-
den; wanneer de waarde niet
correct is, moet de massaelek-
trode voorzichtig gebogen wor-
den.
Controleer of de rondel zich in
goede staat bevindt. Met ge-
monteerde rondel draait men de
bougie met de hand vast, om
schade aan de schroefdraad te
vermijden.
Sluit ze met de sleutel die wordt
bijgeleverd in de gereedschaps-
kit, door elke bougie een 1/2
