DISPLAYING THE MAP SCREEN

Insert the map DVD-ROM disc included with this unit with printed
surface up.

Slide the power switch upwards to turn ON the power supply.
¡If the NAVI mode screen appears, wait a moment and the initial screen
will be displayed.
* If the VIDEO/DVD mode screen appears, switch the unit to NAVI mode as described in
"Switching to NAVI mode from another mode" (see below).
To display the actual present location, make sure to connect the GPS exterior antenna
included with the unit and proceed to receive electromagnetic signals from the GPS satellite.

The initial screen appears on the display.

The CAUTION screen appears.

The CAUTION screen remains on the display unless you press the Ä button.

SWITCHING TO NAVI MODE FROM ANOTHER MODE
Press the Ü button to display "NAVI".
Every time this button is pressed, the mode display is
switched.
About the present location display
¡This unit positions your present location on a map
using a GPS exterior antenna included with the unit
to receive signals from the GPS satellite.
To enable the unit to display your present
location and guide you towards your
destination, make sure to connect the GPS
exterior antenna and receive signals from the
GPS satellite.

¡The color of the "GPS reception display" denotes the accuracy level of the present
positioning. If this indication is gray, refer to "Receiving signals from the GPS satellite"
and proceed to receive signals.

¡After purchase, the unit will display the San Francisco area if proper positioning of
the present location hasn't been effectuated yet.
