2.5 Safety-conscious behavior
The measures and notes described below are necessary to avoid personal injury and
damage to property.
2.5.1 Personnel qualifications
The machine/system design work and all work must be carried out by qualified spe-
cialist personnel.
Qualified specialist personnel must meet the following requirements:
● Technical training in the field of mechatronic systems
● Assessment, detection and prevention of possible hazards which may occur dur-
ing work
● Authorization to commission, ground and label power circuits and devices/
systems in accordance with safety engineering standards
● Knowledge of all applicable standards, regulations and safety rules for working on
the machine/system.
● Trained by the operating company/machine manufacturer to handle the machine/
system, electromagnetic compatibility and electrostatically sensitive components.
● Observe all labels, symbols and instructions on the original packaging and on the
product.
2.5.2 ESD protective equipment
● Perform all work on the product only with ESD protective equipment.
2.5.3 Obligations of the operating company and machine manufacturer
The operating company and the machine manufacturer are responsible for the safety
of the machine/system and the health protection of the personnel.
● Ensure correct use
● Ensure that all work is only carried out by qualified specialist personnel.
● Specify suitable accessories, tools and consumables and ensure that staff can
use them.
● Provide personnel with ESD protective equipment and ensure that they use the
ESD protective equipment.
● Provide personnel with all applicable accident prevention and safety regulations
and ensure that they are familiar with these regulations.
● Ensure that maintenance and cleaning are carried out at regular intervals.
