There are two different types of power connectors—these are shown
below.
Some of the power connectors will already be connected to devices. If
you install a device that requires a different connector, the connector
converter should be supplied with the device.
To select the drive to start (boot) from, you must enter the Setup
program and go to
Advanced - Advanced CMOS Setup
select the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Boot Devices. Connecting a hard disk
drive to the IDE master connector does not ensure that the PC will boot
on that hard disk drive. It is the boot order settings in the Setup
program that determine the boot order. Refer to page 84 for more
information.
Refer to the IDE drive's manual to see if you must set jumpers. The drive
jumper should be set to "cable select" or "CS".

Configuring an IDE Device After Installation

After installing an IDE drive you will need to verify that your PC has
correctly identified the new configuration, by viewing the summary
screen (press
while the Vectra logo is displayed during system
startup). If the configuration is not correct, run the Setup program to
configure the device (press
during system startup).
