MCLS2-CUSTOM 4-Channel Laser/SLD Source
The MCLS2-CUSTOM 4-Channel Laser/SLD Source is designed to operate from 85 to 264 VAC, and there is no
need to make any adjustments as the switching power supply will determine the correct voltage automatically.
Use the proper line cord for your region.
1. Locate the unit on a dry, level working surface. Verify that the ventilation vents are not obstructed.
2. Make sure the Power key switch on the front of the unit is in the OFF position.
3. Plug the female end of the AC line cord provided into the AC Mains Power Plug on the rear of the unit.
Plug the male end into a properly grounded AC socket.
4. Install the interlock key into the interlock connector located on the rear panel. See section 4.10 for details.
5. The laser or SLD aperture is a fiber connector; therefore, it is required to use an FC/PC, FC/APC, or FC/APC
(PM) fiber optic patch cord to connect to the LASER APERTURE on the front panel of the unit. Always clean
the ferrule end of your fiber patch cable prior to inserting it into the output FC Adapter (refer to section
5.2 page 30 for more information). Verify that the dust caps are installed onto all unused fiber
connections.
6. The enable buttons on the front panel enable/disable the light sources. The sources can be
enabled/disabled individually or all at once. Once any light source is, or combination of light sources are,
enabled the Enable All button will act as a disable button. The Enable All button only acts as an Enable All
when the current system state is all lasers and SLDs off.
7. The LCD is a touchscreen. Select the parameter you wish to adjust and adjust using the displayed popup
keypad or the control knob or select one of the information buttons to view settings, adjust limits, or view
light source specifications.
