Setting Favorite channels

You can quickly recall often-used channels by setting them
as Favorite channels, which can be independently assigned
to each channel group.
1 Hold down [U/I/C] (CH/WX) for 1 second to change the
channel group, if needed. Repeat to go to the next group.
2 Select the desired channel to be set as a Favorite channel.
3 Hold down [*] for 1 second.
• The displayed channel is set as a Favorite channel.
• " " appears on the display.
Selecting a Favorite channel:
 Push [FAV] several times to select the desired Favorite
channel.
• Non-Favorite channels are skipped and not displayed.
• You can also select the favorite channels by pushing [▲] or [▼]
while holding down [FAV].
Clearing a Favorite channel:
1 Select the desired Favorite channel you want to clear.
2 Hold down [*] for 1 second.
• " " disappears.
Clearing all Favorite channels:
 While holding down [*] (FAV), turn ON the power.
• All Favorite channels in the selected channel group are cleared.
• When no channel is set as Favorite channel:
Holding down [*] (FAV), turn ON the power sets all channels as
Favorite channels.

Starting a scan

1 Hold down [U/I/C] (CH/WX) for 1 second to change the
channel group. Repeat to advance to the desired group.
• When the Weather Alert function is in use, select a desired
weather channel by pushing [CH/WX] and [▲] or [▼].
2 Push [SCAN] to start a scan.
• "SCAN" blinks while scanning.
• During a priority scan, "16" appears on the sub channel readout .
• When a signal is received, the scan pauses until the signal
disappears, or resumes after pausing 5 seconds, depending on
the Scan Resume Timer setting.
3 To stop the scan, push [SCAN] again.
• "SCAN" disappears.
• Pushing [PTT], [16/C], [CH/WX] or [FAV] also stops the scan.
