HART

The HART card allows you to configures the POLLING ADDRESS for FSK and the ports for TCP and UDP connections
The valid range of the polling address is 0-255, with 0 normally reserved for adding a new device on an FSK multidrop
system.
Note
The ports must be compatible with your security policy and network settings.
DESCRIPTOR, SHORT TAG and MESSAGE allow you to enter information about the device or application. The DATE
CODE field may be used for information or as a user entered date for notations.
The HART implementation supports Common and Universal Commands.

Modbus

The Modbus card allows you to configure the MODBUS TCP and the MODBUS SERIAL settings.
The MODBUS TCP default port is 502 and the TIMEOUT set to 60 seconds.
Note
Both the port and timeout settings may be edited for network compatibility.
MODBUS SERIAL supports Modbus RTU protocol and is accessible at the RS-485 serial port located in the termination
area of the DPC2K. This port may be given a new name in the DESCRIPTOR field.
The ADDRESS, BAUD RATE, PARITY and STOP BITS are settings for Modbus RTU and must match the host settings in
order to establish a proper connection.
In addition to the serial settings, the data order between the Modbus Host and the target (DPC2K) must be correct.
The BYTE ORDER (16 bit) can be set to MSB (Most Significant Bit) as the leading bit in a response, or LSB (Least
Significant Bit). A Modbus float is a 32-bit word and the Byte order is important for the Host to correctly interpret the
floating-point value in the response from the target (DPC2K). Since the bit and byte orders must be used correctly,
FLOAT BYTE ORDER allows you to select the correct method of forming the Modbus register based upon which bit
order and which byte order the Host requires.

Protocol Statistics

The Protocol Statistics card provides statistics for messages and connection information.
The DPC2K supports up to four connection for each protocol on the LAN port simultaneously. There may also be up to
five TCP connections (depending on configuration) and up to four UDP HART IP connections. At least one TCP
connection is guaranteed for each protocol port.
