Setting Alerts

See Table 3 for DPC2K alerts and recommended actions.
Expand DEVICE STATUS (example screen shown in Figure 4) by clicking on the icon to the right of the wording to show
the card for setting these alerts. The conditions are listed for each of the dashboards the variables appear on.
Note
Process Alarms, Device Alerts, and Device Variable under Device Status may be collapsed if the device is operating properly and
there are no active alerts or alarms. When using LoopConnect software, Device Status is best utilized as a troubleshooting tool.

Alert Priority and Color Key

The DPC2K allows these defaults to be modified in order to provide greater compatibility with existing systems, in
accordance with NAMUR NE107.
Note
The NAMUR NE107 recommendation harmonizes the display of status for devices, and defines that detailed device-specific
diagnostics are summarized as four simple status signals. This ensures that the plant operator is not inundated with device
troubleshooting details and cryptic error codes.

NE107 Status Messages

D Failure (Red): Output signal invalid due to malfunction in the field device or its sensors.
D Function Check (Orange): Output signal temporarily invalid (e.g. frozen) due to ongoing work on the device.
D Out of Specification (Yellow): Out of specification means that the device is operating outside its specified range or
an internal diagnostic indicates deviations from measured or set values due to internal problems in the device or
process characteristics
D Maintenance Required (Blue): Although the output signal is valid, a function will soon be restricted due to
operational conditions.
D Normal Operating (Green)
