Loop Dashboard

The Loop dashboard provides configuration for the controller. It features a drag and drop interface to configure the I/O
to the correct parameters of the process loop.
The top row of the dashboard provides information about the process loop. The DESCRIPTOR field can be updated
with the loop name. CONTROL TYPE and LOOP TYPE provide information regarding the controller functions.

CONTROL ACTION dictates the action of the controller output. Choices are direct- or reverse-acting. In direct-acting,
the output of the controller output rises if the process variable increases. Reverse-acting means that the controller
output drops when the process variable rises.
Note
CONTROL ACTION is dependent upon the control element configuration. The most common control action is reverse-acting.

SP (Setpoint)

The SP card shows the currently configured source of the setpoint value. A setpoint can be set locally on the LUI, via an
analog input, through a remote digital setpoint from a Modbus register (40033), or a HART device variable. Any of the
small cards from the Inputs row at the bottom of the dashboard can be dragged and dropped as the SP source.
SETPOINT LIMITS will initially default to the range of the process variable but may be configured as a subset of that
range for operational or safety reasons. The setpoint limits only allow valid setpoint entries to be within the lower and
upper values.
