3. While in MANUAL mode – change output to 100% and 0%.
Note
Output pressure should match the bench set values of the actuator's (operating range) and not exceed the operating range of the
actuator.
4. Ensure the voltage and current rating of power supply is adequate.
Note
Voltage can be read from either LoopConnect software or the LUI.
Voltage should be at least 9 volts and able to provide a minimum of 120 mA.
5. If integral process pressure sensor is used, provide a means of measuring / verifying calibration (zero and span)
using values from LoopConnect software or the LUI.
6. If remote set-point is used (Analog Input #1) and while in LOCAL mode, verify zero and span (4-20 mA) values are
correct.
7. If an external transmitter is used (Analog Input #2) and while the output is in MANUAL mode, verify the zero and
span values are correct.
8. If optional output (Analog Output) is used and before the receiving device/instrument is put into operation; verify
the zero and span values are correct.
9. Verify the PID control action is correct:
a. DIRECT acting, an increase in PV will result in increase in output.
b. REVERSE acting, an increase in PV will result in decrease in output.
10. Verify an INCREASING output value results in the valve opening or closing.
Note
The DPC2K default tuning parameters are: Proportional Gain =1, Integral (seconds/repeat) =0, and Derivative (seconds) = 0.
Verification of tuning parameters is required before placing control loop into production.
