CYLINDER HEAD/VALVE
CYLINDER HEAD COVER REMOVAL
11) WATER HOSES
Remove thè following parte:
— steering covers
- luel tank (page 4-3)
— aif cleaner case (page 4-4)
— carburetors (page 4-6)
Drain thè coolant (page 5-3).
WATER HOSE
(21 COVER
Front;
Disconnect thè spark plug caps and thè water hose.
Remove thè water pipe mounting bolt, front water pipe and 0
ring.
NOTE
If coolant drips on thè engine, wipe it off immediately.
Remove thè cylinder head cover boits and cover.
Rear;
(1) CRANKCASE
BREATHER
TUBE
(2) WATER HOSE
Disconnect thè spark plug caps, crankcase breather tube and
water hose.
Remove thè water pipe mounting bolt, rear water pipe and O-
ring.
Remove thè cylinder head cover boits and cover.
Unclamp thè wire harness from thè frame.
(3) REAR CYLINDER HEAD

CAMSHAFT REMOVAL
(1) INDEX MARKS
Remove thè cylinder head covers.
Remove thè timing hole cap and crankshaft hole cap from thè
left crankcase cover.
Align thè ET mark (rear: RT mark) on thè flywheel with thè
index mark on thè left crankcase cover timing hole by turning
thè crankshaft counterclockwise. Make sure thè piston is at
TDC (TOP DEAD CENTER) on thè compression stroke.
If thè piston is not at TDC. turn thè crankshaft 360° counter
clockwise, and re-align thè mark and index mark.
