Using Manual Turning Gear
Before starting the engine, make sure that the turning gear is pulled out. Starting the engine with the turning gear
pushed-in not only damages the ring gear but also may result in personal injury.
1. Loosen two bolts, and remove the plate from the
shaft groove.
2. Push the shaft fully to engage it with the ring gear.
3. Using the socket and ratchet handle, turn the shaft.
4. After turning, pull out the shaft, insert the plate in
the shaft groove, and tighten the bolts.
Make sure the plate is securely installed in the shaft
groove.
