A fourth type, event datagram, is not configurable from the 6800 Series NMS. To configure a
NAP as an event datagram port, use the terminal interface. This type of NAP is used to connect to
the 6800 Series NMS multiplexer command port and to connect to the 6800 Series NMS
multiplexer event port. Typically, you would configure only two NAPS in the multiplexer network
as this type — both connected directly to the 6800 Series NMS for command and event datagram
use. Refer to Chapter 2 for details on configuring this NAP type.
The following commands are related to NAPs.
For detailed information on these commands, refer to the COMSPHERE 6800 Series Network
Management System Multiplexer Command Reference Manual.

Attribute Configuration

Attributes are characteristics of physical links and logical links. Physical attributes are those that
are associated with a physical T1 link. Logical attributes are those that are associated with a logical
link. A logical link also inherits all physical attributes of its physical link. Attributes are used to
restrict channel groups to routes that traverse physical and logical links possessing certain
characteristics. These attributes are user-defined, except the Clear Channel attribute, which is
determined by B8ZS and ACAMI configurations of logical and physical links.
6800-A2-GB21-10
Configured as a printer port and can act as the destination for event log 1 or 3.
Event log 3 is not available with 740/741/742 and 745 multiplexers
with feature packages earlier than 3.2.1 and 4.1.1, respectively.
Event log 3 is not supported by the NMS.
Configured as an interface that extends the control network to another intelligent device,
for example, another ACCULINK multiplexer. See the Supervisory Data Links (SDLs)
section for more information.
