Structure of Mapping File

The EToAMapping file is an ASCII text file with three line types:
A comment line is any line beginning with the pound sign (#). Comments are used liberally
throughout the file to describe the overall file format and to describe individual data lines.
A blank line may be used anywhere to improve the readability of the file.
A data line assigns a single ACCULINK event to one of the predefined NMS alert groups
summarized earlier in Tables 1-2 through 1-6. Each line consists of six fields separated by spaces
or tabs. The fields are:
The Major Code and Minor Code uniquely identify the ACCULINK event as defined by each
device. For example, the code 80.00 corresponds to CPU Diagnostic Alarm for multiplexers and
switches.
The Device Class field is a single character identifying the general class of device to which the
event applies. The valid values for this field are:
The Alert Event field is a single character specifying whether to treat this ACCULINK event as a
new NMS alert or as an alarm clear. Valid values are:
The Alert Class field is a single character specifying whether to treat this ACCULINK event as an
NMS alarm (a condition which will eventually be cleared) or as an NMS event (a report of an
occurrence that will not be cleared). Valid values are:
The Alert Event and Alert Class fields combined specify whether the ACCULINK event should be
treated as an NMS alarm, an NMS alarm clear, or an NMS event. Valid combinations are
