4.2.5.2 Asynchronous serial ports
The optional Asynchronous Serial Port feature requires additional hardware. Some models are equipped with two ex-
tra serial ports, which are provided through two RJ-45 connectors on the Regesta Smart PLC. Please note that the
functionality of these serial ports may vary on certain models. To determine if your device offers serial ports and to
obtain information about their type, please refer to the label.

These serial ports can support RS-232 and/or RS-485/RS-422, and possess the following characteristics:

4.3 Installing the SIM card
The Regesta Smart PLC features a Wireless WAN interface that requires at least one SIM card to be inserted for op-
eration. However, in certain countries, CDMA services provided by some operators do not require the use of SIM
cards.The Regesta Smart PLC features two SIM trays placed beneath the protective case, conveniently labeled
SIM1 and SIM2. For setups that utilize only one SIM card, we advise inserting it into the SIM1 tray.
Warning
Never install the SIM cards while the device is powered on.
