When the speakerconfigurationis set for 6.1/7.1 operation,playbackof a DTS-encoded p rogram
sourcewill automatically trigger the selectionof one of the two DTS-ES modes.Newerdiscswith
specialDTS-ES discreteencodingwill be decodedto providesix discrete, f ull-bandwidth channels
plusa separatelow-frequency channel.All other DTSdiscswill be decodedusing the DTS-ES Matrix
mode,whichcreatesa 6.1-channelsoundfield from the original 5.1-channelsoundtrack.

DolbyProLogicII is the latest versionof DolbyLaboratory's benchmarksurroundtechnology
that decodesfull-range,discreteleft, centerright, right surroundand left surroundchannels
from either matrix surroundencodedprograms and conventionalstereosources when
an analog input is in use.The DolbyPro LogicII Moviemode is optimizedfor moviesoundtracks,
while the ProLogicII Music modeshould be usedwith musicalselections. T he ProLogicII
Emulationmode re-creates original ProLogicprocessing for those who preferthat presentation.

Exclusive to HarmanKardonfor AV receivers, L ogic7 is an advanced modethat extractsthe Delaytime not adjustable
maximumsurroundinformationfrom either surround-encoded programsor conventionalstereo
material.Depending on the numberof speakersin useand the selectionmade in the SURROUND
SELECT menu,the "5.1" versionsof Logic7 modesareavailablewhen the 5.1 option is chosen,
while the "7.1" versionsof Logic 7 producea full soundfield presentation,includingback surround
speakerswhen the "6.117.1"option is chosen. T he Logic7 C (or Cinema)modeshould be used
with any sourcethat containsDolbySurroundor similar matrixencoding.Logic7 C delivers
increased center-channel intelligibility,and moreaccurateplacementof soundswith fadesand pans
that are muchsmootherand morerealisticthan with otherdecodingtechniques. T heLogic7 M or
Musicmode shouldbe usedwith analog or PCMstereosources.Logic7 M enhances the listening
experienceby presentinga wider front soundstageand greaterrearambience. B oth Logic7 modes
also direct low-frequency informationto the subwoofer(if installedand configured)to deliver
maximumbassimpact.The Logic7 E(or Enhance) m ode,availableonly when the 5.1 option is chosen,
is an extensionof the Logic7 modesthat is primarilyusedwith musicalprograms. L ogic 7 adds
additional bassenhancement t hat circulateslow frequenciesin the 40Hzto 120Hz rangeto the front
and surroundspeakers to delivera lesslocalizedsoundstagethat appearsbroaderandwider than
when the subwooferisthe solesourceof bassenergy.
Thesetwo modesare availablewhen any analog sourceis playingto createa six-channel
surroundpresentationfrom conventionalMatrix-encoded and traditional Stereosources. S elect
the Cinemaversionof Neo:6when a programwith any type of analog Matrix surroundencoding
is present.Selectthe Musicversionof Neo:6for optimal processing when a nonencoded,
two-channelstereoprogramis being played.
Delaytime not adjustable
Usesthe informationcontainedin a surround-encoded or two-channelstereoprogramto
createcenter-channel information. In addition,the informationthat is normallysent to the
rear-channel surroundspeakersis carefullymixedin with the front-left and front-right
channelsfor increased realism.Usethis mode when you havea center-channel s peaker
but no surroundspeakers.

THEATER TheTHEATER mode createsa soundfield that resembles the acousticfeeling of a Delaytime not adjustable
standard live performance theater.
