Configure the device using the web interface
Manage alarms through Remote Manager
You can configure the alarms sent to Remote Manager. You can also view and manage alarms from
the Remote Manager interface. See

Users

User settings involve several areas:
n
User authentication: Whether authentication is required for users accessing the Digi Connect
and ConnectPort TS Family device and the information required to access it. Depending on the
Digi device, you can define multiple users and their authentication information. User
authentication settings are on the Users settings page.
n User access settings: Device interfaces that a user can access, such as the command line or
web interface.
n
User permissions settings: Permissions a user has for accessing and configuring the device.
n
Several settings on the Network Configuration pages are available to further secure the Digi
Connect and ConnectPort TS Family product. For example, you can disable unused network
services on the Network Services page.
User Configuration
User Configuration
Use the User Configuration page to configure a user's login credentials.
n
User Name: The user's login name.
n New Password/Confirm Password: The user's login password. The password must be 4 to 16
characters long.
User Access
Use the User Access page to configure the user's access permissions.
n
System Interface Access (Command Line Interface): Choose the interface to use when the
user logs into the command line interface. Your options are as follows:
None: Disable system interface access for this user.

Shell: Allow this user to access the shell program of the command-line interface.

CLI menu: Allow this user to access the menu program of the command-line interface.
l
Port access menu: Allow this user to access the port access menu.

Allow web interface access: Allow this user to access the web interface for system
configuration and management.

Manage Serial Ports: Select the ports that the user can access.

Use the User Permissions page to configure a user's permissions associated with various services and
configuration settings.
