3.0 Facing and Finishing
3.1 Mantel Requirements
WARNING: All minimum clearances to combustible material MUST be maintained.
•
Combustible Mantel Projections: Mantel projections must fall within the 12" (305mm) combustible Wall Projection shown in
Figure 3.2. The combined wall projection, finishing material, and combustible mantel cannot exceed a 12" (305mm) projection.

Combustible Wall Bump-Out / Projection: You are allowed up to a 12" (305mm) wall projection starting at the top finishing
edge.
Note: At no point can any material extend to the inside of the glass viewing area. No material should block the viewing area or glass
of the appliance.
3.2 Hearth Requirements

Combustible Hearth Projections: Hearth projections are unlimited up to the bottom of the viewing area. See Figure 3.2.
