PRINTING BUILT-IN TEST PATTERNS (STAIR-STEP) -
The UP-D2500/UP-D2550 has a function to print test patterns (stair-step) by itself.
This is the easiest method of checking printing.
1. Set the ribbon and paper.
2. Remove the black shielding seal on the right side of the rear panel.
3. Push the switch on the internal board (S207 of the IF-687 board) using a ball-point pen.
<Note> Since the UP-D2500 (For UC and CE) does not incorporate a masking memory, the
actual colors cannot be obtained when built-in patterns are printed (the masking
process is performed by the driver software).
However the UP-D2550 (For J) is able to produce the actual colors as it incorporates
the masking memory.
