7. Label and remove the drive signal and power cables from the disk drive backplane.
Cut the cable ties that secure the disk drive cables to the disk drive backplane.
8. Place the disk drive backplane on an ESD surface.
Replacing the front disk drive backplane in the 9006-22P
Learn how to replace the front disk drive backplane in the system.
Procedure
1. Ensure that you have the electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap on and that the ESD clip is plugged
into a ground jack or connected to an unpainted metal surface. If not, do so now.
2. Remove the replacement disk drive backplane and cables from the protective plastic envelope.
3. Ensure that the jumper settings on the new disk drive backplane match the jumper settings disk drive
backplane that you are replacing.
4. Carefully lower the disk drive backplane (A) straight into the chassis, as shown in Figure 19 on page
25, so that the screw holes align.
