The DC battery return terminal shall not be connected to the chassis or frame ground. The dc-powered system is intended to be installed in a common bonding network (CBN) as described in GR-1089-CORE.

    If your system is managed by the Hardware Management Console (HMC), use the HMC to repair a part in the system. For instructions, see Repairing a part by using the HMC (www.ibm.com/support/ knowledgecenter/POWER9/p9haj/p9haj_hmc_repair.htm). If your system is not managed by an HMC, complete the steps in following procedures to remove and replace the VPD card.

Ensure that you have the electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap on and that the ESD clip is plugged into a ground jack or connected to an unpainted metal surface.
