KVM over IP User Manual
Problem
When I log in with my Mac
system, the local and
remote mouse pointers do
not sync.
When I log in with my Sun
system, the local and
remote mouse pointers do
not sync
When I log in with my Linux
system, the local and
remote mouse pointers do
not sync.
When cascading the
CS1308 / CS1316 with
KVM over IP Switches
using KA7170, the online
LED on the KA7170 keeps
flashing and unable to
cascade.

There are two automatic Mouse DynaSync settings: the
default, and Mac2. If mouse synchronization is not
satisfactory with the default, try the Mac 2 setting. See
the Note on page 108 for details.
Automatic Mouse DynaSync sync only supports USB
mice on Windows and Mac (G4 or higher) systems. You
must sync the pointers manually. See Mouse DynaSync
Mode, page 107, and Manual Mouse Synchronization,
page 108, for further details.
After doing the above, refer to Sun / Linux, page 307,
under Additional Mouse Synchronization Procedures for
further steps to take.

To cascade the CS1308 / CS1316 using KA7170, you
need to set the Mouse DynaSync Mode to manual mode.
Please follow the steps below for a correct cascading
procedure.
1. Remove KA7170 from the CL1308 / CL1316.
2. Connect the KA7170 to any source device (PC).
3. Open the client viewer corresponding to the KVM
port that the KA7170 is connected to.
4. From the client viewer, go to Control Panel and set
the Mouse DynaSync Mode to manual mode. See
Mouse DynaSync Mode, page 107 for further details.
5. Remove KA7170 from the source device (PC).
6. Connect the KA7170 back to the CS1308 / CS1316.
