2 When TC or U-BIT is selected, use the time code selector to select the time
code (LTC, AUTO, VITC).
When AUTO is selected, VITC is automatically read and displayed for
playback speed within a range of +1/2, and LTC for other speeds.

The SVO-5800/S5800P has a built-in time code generator. Using this built-in time
code generator, you can preset the initial values of the time code and user bit to be
recorded on the tape. In addition, you can preset the time code of the cue-up point
on the SVO-5800/S800P and SVP-5600/S600P. If the time code of the cue-up point
is set, the desired scene can be quickly located.
