SETTING UP THROUGHPUT SESSIONS
A throughput ' 'session" differs from a throughput ' 'file" in that the file is merely space reserved
on disc, while a session is the actual throughputling of data to the disc. Files can be used
repeatedly for successive sessions, but note that each file can contain only one session. Once
a throughput file has been created on disc, you are ready to activate throughput and set u p the
throughput session. Setting u p and starting a session requires eight steps:
