Press the brake pedal and select the desired se-
lector lever position again. You can then continue
driving .

Transmission overheating: Please drive con-
servatively.
The transm ission temperature
has increased sig-
nificantly due to the sporty driving manner . Drive
in a less sporty manner until the temperature
re-
turns to the normal range and the indicator light
switches of .

Transmission malfunction: You can continue
driving
There is a system malfunct ion in the transmis-
sion . You may continue dr iving . Drive to your au-
thorized Audi dealer or qualified repair facility
soon to have the malfunction corrected .

Transmission malfunction: Limited driving
functionality
There is a system malfunct ion in the transmis-
sion . The transmission is sw itching to emergency
mode . This mode only shifts into certa in gears or
will no longer shift at all. The engine may stall.
Drive to yo ur authorized Aud i dealer or qualified
repair faci lity immediately to have the malfunc-
tion corrected.

Transmission malfunction: No reverse
You can continue driving
S tronic transmission: There is a system malfunc-
tion in the transmission . The transmission is
switch ing to emergency mode. This mode only
shifts into certa in gears or will no longer shift at
all. The engine may stall. You cannot engage th e
reverse gear . Drive to your authorized Audi dealer
or qualified repair facility immediate ly to have
the malfunction corrected.

Selector lever emergency release
Applies to : vehicles with S tronic/t iptron ic
If the vehicle ' s power supply fails, the selector
lever con be released in on emergency.

., To access the emergency release mechanism,
remove the ashtray insert @ using the release
sw itch @ ¢

., Loosen a nd remove the cap in the ashtray
mount.
., You now have access to a pin. Using a screw-
driver or simi la r object, press the pin down and
hold it in that posit ion ¢

., Now press the release button and move these-
lector lever to the N position.
The selector lever can on ly be moved from the P
position if the key is in the lock and the ignition is
switched on. If the power supply fails (for exam-
ple, the battery is discharged) and the veh icle
must be pushed or towed , move the selector lev-
er to the N position f irst using the emergency re-
lease.
