- A tight tether or other strap on a rearward-
f acing child restra int attached to the front
passenger seat can put too much pressure
on the weight-mat in the seat and register a
heavier weig ht in the Advanced Air bag Sys-
tem . The heavier weight registered can
ma ke t he system wo rk as t hough an adult
we re on t he seat and depl oy t he Advanced
Air bag when it must be supp ressed causing
serious or even f at al inj ury to t he child.
- If you must insta ll a rearw ard fa cing child
saf ety seat on t he fron t passenger seat be-
cause of exceptiona l circumstances and the
PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF lig ht does not
come on and stay on, immed iate ly install
the rearward-facing child safety seat in a
rear seat ing position and have the airbag
system inspected by your author ized Audi
dealer.
