When connecting the machine directly to a computer, use either the parallel interface
or USB interface. When connecting to a network, use the Ethernet interface.
The USB interface (optional) supports USB2.0.
This section describes the installation procedure for the USB interface.
Confirm that the machine is off.
Connect a USB interface cable to
the USB2.0 interface connector on
the rear of the machine.
Connect the other end of the USB
interface cable to a computer.
Switch on the machine.
Restart the computer.
For details of setting items, refer to "Installation When Using USB Port" (P.29).
The Ethernet interface supports the following 2 types.
100Base-TX
10Base-T
This section describes the installation procedure for the Ethernet interface.

Connect a network cable to the
Ethernet interface connector.

• Prepare a network cable
suitable for your network
connection. When changing
the network cable, consult our
customer engineers.
Switch on the machine.
