Testing for errors
Status check
The C20's debugging features can be used to catch many types of
programming errors. For this you use the FUN and MONTR keys in any of
the three modes.
To see if the program you entered in the PC has a programming error,
press
oona
This is the display if no error is found.
If an error is found in the program, the corresponding error message
number will be displayed. Refer to Appendix E, Maintenance and
troubleshooting, and carry out the corrective action listed there.
If more than one error exists, continue pressing
to display each error message one at a time.
There are basically two levels of errors—fatal and non-fatal. A fatal error,
such as a memory error, prevents the PC from operating. A non-fatal
error, such as a battery failure, allows the operation to proceed but still
must be corrected. In case both types of errors have occurred, the error
messages for the fatal error take precedence over the other and must be
corrected first.
At times you may want to scan the status (whether ON or OFF) of each
relay contact before you start the control operation. This can be an
effective troubleshooting technique and is available in both the RUN and
MONITOR modes.
You would normally perform the status check after you have carried out
the debugging step above. To begin, go to the first address and press
