Top-of-Range Cookware
Aluminum:
Medium-weight
cookware
is
recommended
because
it heats
quickly
and evenly. Most foods brown evenly in
an aluminum
skillet. Use saucepans with
fight-fitting lids when cooMng with

Cast-Iron: If heated slowly, most skillets
will give safisfimtory results.
Enamelware: Under
some conditions,
the enamel
of some cookware
may
melt. Follow cookware
manufimmrer's
recommendations

Glass: There are two types of glass
cookware--[hose
for
oven
rise

and those for top-ofqange cooking
(saucepans, coffee and teapots).

and is usually
combined

metals for improved

metal skillets
usually work sadsfitctorily
if they are used
with medium
heat as the manuf_cturer
recommends.
Stove TopGrills
Do not use stove top Anills on your seated
gas burners.
If you use the stove top glill
on the sealed gas burne_;
it will cause
incomplete
combustion
and can result
in exposure
to carbon
monoxide
levels
above allowable
current
standards.

Use a fiat-bottomed
wok,
Wok This Way
Werecommend t hatyouusea 14-inch (356 crn)
or srnaller f lat-bottomed wok.Makesurethewok
bottomsits flat on thegrate. They areavailable at
yourlocalretailstore.
Only a fiat-bottomed
wok should
be used.
Do not use a fiat-bottomed wok on a
support ,Jng. Placing the ring over the
burner or grate may cause the burner
to work improperly, resulting in carbon
monoxide levels above allowable
standards. This coukt be dangerous to
your health.
/n Case of Power Failure
In case of a power fidlure, you can light
the gas surf_ce
burners
on your range
with a match.
Hold a lit match
to the
burne_;
then push in and mrn the control
knob to the UTE position.
Use exUeme
caution
when lighting
burnei_
this way.

power fidlure occms will continue to
operate normally.
