Mechanical key

Press the front part (1) of the door han-
dle to pull out the rear part of the door
handle. While keep pressing the front
part of the door handle, insert the
mechanical key (2) to the lock with the
key handle facing the ground as shown.
To lock the door, turn the key toward the
front (left side) of the vehicle. To unlock,
turn the key toward the rear (right side)
of the vehicle.
NOTICE
Do not apply excessive force on the door
and door handle. It may damage the
door and door handle.

The mechanical key only locks/unlocks
the driver's door handle. For more
details, refer to 'In case of an emergency'
in this chapter.
How to remove ice from door
handles
In extreme winter conditions, the door
handle may not open due to icing inside
the door handle. You can usually use the
bottom of your fist to tap the door han-
dle a few times to remove the ice.
1. Remove icing by tapping the door
handle using the bottom of your fist in
a circular pattern along the perimeter
of the door handle.

2. If necessary, increase the intensity of
tapping to remove ice, and repeat
until the door handle protrudes when
unlocking the door.
3. When the door handle protrudes and
can be pulled, open and close a few
times to remove any icing residue.
CAUTION
僅 Before performing this procedure,
remove any jewelry or objects that
could damage the paintwork and do
not attempt to use tools or excessive
force.
僅 Do not hit the vehicle too hard as
dents may occur. You should use a
force similar to knocking on your
neighbor's door.
