Features of your vehicle
僅 The door handle touch sensor will
only operate when the smart key is
within 28~40 inches (0.7~1 m) from
the outside door handle.
僅 The doors may lock or unlock if the
touch sensor of the outer door handle
is recognized while washing your car
or due to heavy rain.
僅 To prevent unintentional door lock or
unlock:
- Press the lock button on the smart
key and immediately press the
unlock button along with the lock
button for more than 4 seconds.
The hazard warning lights will blink
four times. At this time, the doors
will not lock or unlock even though
the touch sensor is touched on the
outside door handle. To deactivate
the function, press the door lock or
unlock button on the smart key.
僅 The doors may not lock or unlock in
the following situations.
- If the touch sensor is touched with
gloves on
- If the door is suddenly approached
Liftgate open (3)
To open:
1. Make sure you have the smart key in
your possession.
2. Pressing the button (3) on the smart
key will only unlock the liftgate.
3. Once the liftgate is opened and then
closed, the liftgate will lock automati-
cally.
NOTICE
The liftgate unlock will only operate
when the smart key is within 28~40
inches (0.7~1 m) from the liftgate.

Panic alarm (4)
1. Press the panic button (4) for more
than 1 second.
2. The horn sounds and hazard warning
light flash for about 27 seconds.
To stop the horn and lights, press any
button on the smart key.
Remote start (5)
You can start the vehicle using the
remote start button (5) of the smart key.
To start the vehicle remotely:
僅 Lock the doors by pressing the door
lock button (1) within 32 feet (10 m)
distance from the vehicle.
僅 Press the remote start button (5) for
over 2 seconds within 4 seconds after
locking the doors.
Press the remote start button (5) once to
turn off the vehicle. Air conditioner/
heater system maintains the status
before turning off the vehicle. If no fur-
ther action for operating/driving the
vehicle is taken, the vehicle will be
turned off 10 minutes after starting the
vehicle remotely.
NOTICE
僅 Laws in your state may restrict the use
of remote start. You should check
country regulations before using this
remote starting system.
僅 It is only possible to start the vehicle
remotely when shifted to P (Park).
僅 If the hood or the liftgate is opened,
you cannot start the vehicle remotely.
