Changing the chain
speed
The device starts at the last selected chain
speed level.By pressing the button for chain
speed­selection­(27)­you­can­switch­bet-
ween chain speeds 15 and 20 m/s.
You can see at which chain speed the de-
vice is currently working by illumination of
Levels 1 or 2 on the chain speed indicator
(25).
Level 1: 15 m/s
­ At­Level­2,­the­chain­speed­is­25­
m/s if you use the device with two
8 Ah performance batteries "Smart
PAPS­208­A1".­­
Checking the chain
brake
The motor cannot be turned on if the
chain brake has engaged. Do not
employ the chain brake in order to
start the chainsaw or to switch it off.

Method 1:
1.­ Place­the­­chainsaw­onto­a­solid,­flat­
surface. It must not contact any objects.
2.­ Operate­the­chain­brake­lever­(5).
3.­ Insert­the­batteries­(16)­into­the­device.­
A warning tone sounds.
The chain brake functions.
4. Loosen the chain brake.
Method 2:
1.­ Place­the­­chainsaw­onto­a­solid,­flat­
surface. It must not contact any objects.
2.­ Operate­the­chain­brake­lever­(5).
3.­ Hold­the­chainsaw­firmly­with­both­
hands,­with­the­right­hand­on­the­rear­

4. Turn on the chainsaw.

5.­ Release­the­on/off­switch­(2).­
If the chain brake does not func-
tion correctly, you must not use
the chainsaw. A slack saw chain leads
to danger of injury. Return the chain-
saw to our Service-Center for repair.
Checking the oil automatic
system
Check the oil level and the automatic oil
system before commencement of work.
• Switch on the chainsaw and hold it
above a bright background. The saw
must not touch the ground.
If­an­oil­trace­can­be­seen,­the­chain-
saw is working trouble-free.
