Receive Antenna Placement
DO NOT - mount the BTR-200 5/8-wave an-
tennas on, or next to, metal such as beams,
walls with metal studs, equipment racks, etc.
This also applies to the antennas when assem-
bled directly to the BTR-200. This will "de-
tune" the receiving antenna which can result in
noise or loss of RF signal at the BTR-200. See
Figure 16.
IMPROVING RECEPTION AND IN-
CREASING RANGE
Keeping the distance from the base (BTR-200)
and the belt packs (TR-200) as short , and un-
obstructed as possible will produce the most
reliable performance.
The BTR-200 is supplied with two antennas.
This should provide satisfactory system perfor-
mance in most applications. System range can
be enhanced by remoting the 5/8-wave receive
antenna.
