The Vess A6000 models have hard drive status and activity LEDs on each drive carrier. Also check the status
indicators on the right side of the front of the device for clues about what is wrong.

Red Drive Status (Replace this drive)
Activity (dark), under normal conditions this will
flash blue color when there is activity on the drive.
