Roller Adjustment
IMPORTANT
The Roller Axle has Internal Bearings. When installing
the Roller Axle onto the Mounting Plate Assemblies,
it is important to keep the Roller Axle aligned as
straight as possible to the Straight Axle Mount. If the
Roller Axle is significantly out of line when sliding it
onto the Straight Axle Mount, the inner race of the
Internal Bearing may crack and cause premature
Bearing failure.
After an initial run of 5-10 hours, check the Roller
Assembly to ensure that the Wheels are tight to one
another and that the Clamps are tight. If not, slide the
Roller Wheels tight together and adjust the Roller Clamps
per Roller Assembly Clamp Tightening Procedure.
Tighten the Clamp U-Bolt evenly to 57 Ft-Lbs and the Set
Screws if applicable, to 37 Ft-Lbs. Thereafter, check the
Roller Assembly every 50-100 hours.

Roller Assembly Clamp Tightening
Procedure
IMPORTANT
The tightening procedure and torque requirement is
critical in keeping the Roller Assembly Clamps tight
and has a significant effect on the Internal Bearing life
of the Roller Axle.
1. Check Roller Axle Pipe and Clamp for burrs on mating
surfaces.
2. Remove end play between Roller Wheels. Loosen the
Clamps. Slide the Wheels snug against each other,
centering the entire assembly on the Roller Axle. If the
Roller Assembly has only one Clamp, slide the
Wheels toward the fixed end of the Roller Axle.
3. Position the Clamps snuggly against the end Wheels.
4. Tighten the Clamp U-Bolt evenly to 57 Ft-Lbs. See
Figure 4-1. U-Bolt MUST BE tightened before the Set
Screws are tightened.
5. Tighten the Clamp Set Screws to 37 Ft-Lbs, if
applicable. Clamp for 4-1/2" diameter Roller Axle
does not have Set Screws.
6. Check that the Internal Bearings turn freely. You
should be able to turn the Internal Bearing with your
fingers. If rotation is jerky, loosen the Set Screws and
U-Bolt until Internal Bearing turns smoothly. It may be
necessary to loosen and reposition the Clamp.
