How to Use Output Triggering

Move to one of the following, by using the cursor key:
<Ignore>, input triggers are ignored.
<Next Step>, an input trigger will cause the next step of a stepped
sweep to be performed.
<Run Sweep>, an input trigger will start a single sweep cycle.

Press Enter.
You can generate input triggers in any of the following ways:
applying a trigger to the Input Trigger Connector on the rear panel of
your instrument,
setting <Trigger Configuration> to <Loopback> so that an output
trigger automatically generates an input trigger, or
using the :TRIGger GPIB command, refer to " 8163A/B, 8164A/B and
8166A/B Lightwave Measurement System User's Guide, Part No.
08164-90B16".
You can configure your Tunable Laser module to output a trigger when the
instrument performs certain tasks.
To set your module's Output Trigger Configuration:

See "How to Set the Trigger Configuration" on page 69 for how to
configure the trigger connectors.

Move to the Tunable Laser channel and press [Menu].

Move to <Output Trigger Mode>, by using the cursor key, and press
Enter. You will see the screen in
Figure 35
on page -65.
