Installing the USB MIDI Driver
1.
Remove all USB cables from the computer (except for the keyboard and mouse), and start
up Windows.
2.
Before installing the driver, quit all applications.
3.
Connect the computer and the device you are using with a USB cable.
4.
The [Add New Hardware Wizard] dialog appears.
5.
Place the CD-ROM provided with your device in the CD-ROM drive.
6.
After a moment, a search is made automatically for the driver, and when detected,
installation of the driver begins.
* If after a few moments nothing appears to be happening, click the [Next] button.
7.
When the dialog announcing that installation of the driver has been completed appears,
click on [Done].
Refer to the following section "Driver Settings" and make the settings for using your
Roland device with your computer. It is these settings that make this possible.
Driver Settings
1.
From the Windows [Start] menu, select "Control Panels" in "Settings."
2.
Double-click on the [Sound and Multimedia] icon in "Control Panels."
* If you cannot find the [Sound and Multimedia] icon, click on "Display all Control Panel
options." in "Control Panels.
3.
Click on the [Audio] tab in the "Sound and Multimedia Properties" dialog, and select the
item with the name of the device you are using in the "MIDI Music Playback" field.
* If using multiple devices, refer to the Owner's Manual.
4.
Click on the [OK] button to close "Sound and Multimedia Properties."
