In the "Copy files from" area, either input the folder that contains the driver, or click the
[Browse] button to access the "Locate File" dialog box, move to the folder that contains the
driver, and click the [Open] button. Then click the [OK] button. (Example: D:\WIN2000)

The "Found New Hardware Wizard" will appear. Make sure that "Roland UM-1 USB
Driver" is displayed, and click the [Finish] button.

The "System Settings Change" dialog box will appear. Click the [Yes] button to re-start the
computer.
If two or more UM-1 units are connected, you may be asked for the driver file.
This driver can be used only for one unit at a time.
When the "Insert disk" dialog box appears, click the [Cancel] button. Then follow the
procedure for "Are two or more UM-1 units connected?" (p. 37)

This driver can be used with only one unit at a time.
The second and subsequent UM-1 cannot be used. Follow the procedure for "Are two or
more UM-1 units connected?" (p. 37)

Other

Display indicates "The currently installed Device Driver does not support Plug
and Play."
This message may appear if you click the [Resources] tab of "Roland UM-1 USB
Driver Properties."
Tried other troubleshooting tips but the UM-1 still does not work
To uninstall the driver, you must log on to Windows as the Administrator or other user
belonging to the Administrators group. For more information regarding this, consult your
computer system administrator.
Uninstall the USB MIDI Driver, and follow the "Installing the USB MIDI Driver" (p. 17) to
re-install the driver.

Uninstalling the USB MIDI Driver

Start Windows with all USB cables including the UM-1(but not the mouse or keyboard)
disconnected.
