ADJUSTING THE REAR BRAKE
1. Check:
• brake lever free play a
Out of specification → Adjust.
Brake lever free play (lever end)
10 ~ 20 mm (0.39 ~ 0.79 in)
2. Adjust:
• brake lever free play

a. Turn the adjusting nut 1 in direction a or
b until the specified brake lever free play is
obtained.
Brake lever free play is
Direction a
increased.
Brake lever free play is
Direction b
decreased.
CAUTION:
_
After adjusting the brake lever free play,
make sure there is no brake drag.

CHECKING THE BRAKE FLUID LEVEL
1. Stand the motorcycle on a level surface.
NOTE:
_
• Place the motorcycle on a suitable stand.
• Make sure the motorcycle is upright.
2. Check:
• brake fluid level
Below the minimum level mark a →
Remove the headlight assembly and add
the recommended brake fluid to the proper
level.
Refer to "REMOVING THE HEADLIGHT
ASSEMBLY".
