7.9. Lubrication

Fan motor bearings are permanently lubricated. All door latches, hinges, door
operating mechanisms, bearing or wear surfaces should be lubricated to ensure
easy operation.
Door hinges should receive 1 to 2 drops of oil a month. The door latches should
be very lightly greased with a non-staining stick lubricant whenever the hinges are
oiled.
Dirt and heat affect lubricant life in the bearings. Motor bearings are usually
sealed. Those that do require periodic lubrication need very little but do need
regular attention. If your motor has lubrication fittings, provide vendor
recommended bearing grease type and adhere to proposed servicing intervals.

7.10. Process Controls and Indicators

Check all controls and indicators for proper operation: switches should move
easily, indicators should light or give a correct signal, and controls should perform
intended function.

7.11. Check Safety Controls

Make certain the oven controls are free of dirt and debris and function properly.

7.12. Recalibrating Controllers

Check Process & Hi-Limit controller calibrations with an input signal from a
certified thermocouple simulator. If re-calibration is necessary, follow the
calibration procedure in Instruction Manual. Refer to manufacturer's manual of
controllers for setting and configuration steps.

7.13. Testing High-Limit Controller

The Protocol 3 controller has an integrated high limit function which disables the
heater output when tripped. Check the High Limit controller by:
1. Set the Hi-Limit setpoint below the process temperature. Refer to the
Protocol 3 manual as necessary.
2. The oven should heat and trip the High-Limit controller as it reaches the
high limit setpoint.
