7.5. Door Hinges and Latches

Check operation of the chamber door to see whether it opens easily and closes
securely without jerking or slamming.

7.6. Oven Screws, Bolts and Fasteners

Check tightness of all screws, bolts, and fasteners. Notice whether the oven
vibrates or makes unusual noises while starting, running, or stopping. Make sure
switches and control knobs and indicators are securely fastened.

7.7. Check Fans

Check fan rotation after initial installation and each major servicing or
replacement of power supply system. Check fan operation regularly by closely
observing for abnormal movement or sound. Irregular noise or movement may
mean the fan needs repair or replacement. Listen for any irregular noises coming
from the fans.
Measure and record recirculation fan motor amps once a year at a minimum. This
will give a rough indication of fan efficiency; a reduction in motor amps of more
than 15% at ambient temperature, could indicate improper loading or a
restriction in the recirculation blower fan or ductwork.
Fans, motors, and shafts should be kept clean and free of dust and oil or grease.
After lubricating, any excess lubricant should be thoroughly removed
immediately.

7.8. Check Heater Performance

Measure heater amps to check a roughly heater performance. A reduction in
heater amps of more than 15% at ambient temperature would indicate a heating
system malfunction. See Section 7.16 for heater replacement instruction.
Open heater compartment and inspect heater. Make sure they are clean and free
of dirt or dust buildup, or of any obstructions. Wipe down with IPA and lint free
cloth.
