Advantech iManager

Advantech's platforms come equipped with iManager, a micro controller that provides
embedded features for system integrators. Embedded features have been moved
from the OS/BIOS level to the board level, to increase reliability and simplify integra-
tion.
iManager runs whether the operating system is running or not; it can count the boot
times and running hours of the device, monitor device health, and provide an
advanced watchdog to handle errors as they happen. iManager also comes with a
secure & encrypted EEPROM for storing important security keys or other customer-
defined information. All the embedded functions are configured through API and pro-
vide corresponding utilities. These APIs comply with PICMG EAPI (Embedded Appli-
cation Programmable Interface) specifications and unify in the same structures. It
makes these embedded features easier to integrate while speeding up development
schedules, and providing software continuity during hardware upgrades. For more
