Step 17d (conditional): Insert the inner server module rails into
the outer rails
After removing the inner rails from the server module and the outer rails
from the rack, you need to insert each inner rail into an outer rail. Each
inner rail can be inserted into either outer rail.
If the server module was returned unracked, you need to check whether the
inner and outer rails were returned separated. If they were, you need to
insert the inner rails into the outer rails.
To insert an inner server module mounting rail into an outer server module
mounting rail:
1. With the flat side of the inner rail facing away from the outer rail, align
the rear of the inner rail (the end without the lip) with the slider on the
outer rail at the front of the outer rail.
2. Slide the inner rail into the outer rail as far as the inner rail goes.
3. While pushing back the purple tab on the inside of the inner rail, push
the inner rail back to release the rail. Then slide the inner rail all the
back into the outer rail.
4. Place the assembled rails in the box for the server mounting rails.
