Chapter 3: Refurbishing an HCP S10 Node
What you need for refurbishing an S10 Node
Step 1 (conditional): Unpack the enclosure
Step 2 (conditional): Insert the upgrade-kit drives into the enclosure
Step 3 (conditional): Connect the server interconnect cable
Step 4 (conditional): Connect the power cables
Step 5: Connect the PDUs to the power sources
Step 6: Check for hardware issues
Step 7: Reset the BIOS on the server modules
Step 8: Wipe the drives
Step 9: Shut down the S10 Node
Step 10 (conditional): Prepare the enclosure carton
Step 11: Disconnect the power cables
Step 12: Disconnect the server interconnect cable
Step 13 (conditional): Remove the upgrade-kit drives from the enclosure
Step 14 (conditional): Remove the front panel and light pipe assembly from the
enclosure
Step 15 (conditional): Remove the cable management arms
Step 16 (conditional): Remove the enclosure from the rack
Step 17 (conditional): Remove the inner rails from the enclosure
Step 18 (conditional): Remove the outer enclosure rails from the rack
Step 19 (conditional): Attach the extenders to the outer enclosure rails
Step 20 (conditional): Insert the inner enclosure rails into the outer rails
Step 21: Pack the enclosure
Step 22 (conditional): Unrack and pack the PDUs

Step 1 (conditional): Unpack the enclosures
Step 2 (conditional): Insert the upgrade-kit drives into enclosures
Step 3 (conditional): Unpack the server modules

Step 5: Cable the enclosures
Step 6 (conditional): Connect the enclosure power cables
Step 7 (conditional): Connect the server module power cables
Step 8: Connect the PDUs to the power sources
