11.1.3 Improper fault rectification

WARNING!
Risk of injury from improper fault rectification!
Improper fault rectification may result in severe personal injury or material
damage.
Therefore:
– Before starting work, ensure sufficient installation freedom.
– Ensure order and cleanliness at the place of installation. Components and
tools lying around and placed on top of one another loosely are sources of
accidents.
– If components were removed, ensure correct installation, reinstall all
fastening elements and observe screw torques.
The following explanations on the faults occurring provide information on who is
authorized to rectify the fault.

11.1.4 Conduct in the event of faults

The following applies as a rule:
1. If work is required in the hazardous area, deactivate the overall system and secure it from
restarting.
2. Determine the cause of the fault.
3. Inform the persons in charge at the place of use of the fault immediately.
4. Depending on the type of the fault, contact the manufacturer and have it rectified by
authorized specialist staff or do so yourself.

11.2 Fault and other status messages

Faults (here equivalent to "alarms") during the operation of the EK205-M can be identified on the
basis of the status symbols in the first row of the display (see section 9.3.4).
Further information and reports can be obtained in the Stat current status and in the SReg. status
tab. They can be found:
- in the Cust. tab (SReg only)
- at the paths Admin  Status and Serv.  Status
Effects and recommended procedures in the event of fault and other status messages:
Message
Description, process
a) Faults, alarms:
Restart
If this message appears whilst in operation, the device is faulty.
Please contact the Elster customer service (see section 1.4 Customer
service).
C-fact. err.
The conversion factor could not be calculated, as the measured gas
temperature is outside -100°C to +100°C or no usable compressibility figure
is available.
Data error
An error was detected during the cyclic check of the data subject to
calibration regulations. Please contact the Elster customer service (see
section 1.4 Customer service).
