Preparing the boiler

4.7.1

Boring the boiler plate

Pierce the closing plate of the combustion chamber, as in Fig. 14.
The position of the threaded holes can be marked using the
thermal insulation screen supplied with the burner.
4.7.2

Blast tube length

The length of the blast tube must be selected according to the
indications provided by the manufacturer of the boiler, and in any
case it must be greater than the thickness of the boiler door
complete with its fettling.
For boilers with front flue passes (Fig. 15), or with a flame
inversion chamber, use a protection made out of refractory
material that allows the blast tube to be removed.
For boilers with a water-cooled front a refractory lining is not
necessary unless expressly required by the boiler manufacturer.
4.8

Boiler fixing

Fig. 15 shows how to apply the burner to a boiler with a
headpiece that is not cooled.
However, the refractory wall must not extend beyond the end of
the combustion head of the burner.
