2.7. Installation of external protection devices
The produ t is only e uipped with a 6 mA DC dire t urrent dete tion devi e. Conse uently, in
a ordan e with the IEC 61851-1 standard, the devi e must be prote ted upstream by externally
installing a Miniature Cir uit Breaker (MCB) and a Residual urrent devi e (RCD).
eProWallbox is not tted with a PEN ault dete tion system.
MCB:
Re ommended C urve, 5kA rated short- ir uit apa ity. Rated urrent a ording to
power supply and harger setting, but no more than 32 A. In the event o a short ir uit, the
value o I2t at the vehi le onne tor o the harging station should not ex eed 75000 A2s.
The over urrent prote tion devi es should omply with IEC 60947-2, IEC 60947-6-2, IEC 61009-1
or the relevant parts o IEC 60898 series or IEC 60269 series.
RCD:
A ording to lo al regulations, at least Type A. Manual reset type only. The RCD should
have a rated residual operating urrent not ex eeding 30 mA and should omply with one o
the ollowing standards: IEC 61008-1, IEC 61009-1, IEC 60947-2 and IEC 62423. The RCD should
dis onne t all live ondu tors.
SPD:
To prevent potential damage to the ele tri vehi le aused by overvoltage, we strongly
re ommend prote ting the power supply ir uit o the onne tion point with an SPD.
IMD:
I installed in IT-type systems, an insulation monitoring devi e (IMD) ompliant with CEI
EN 61557-8 must be tted.
If installed in TN-type systems, t ere may be additional speci c local re ulations
re ardin system safety and protection a ainst faults t at t e installer must
understand and implement. A circuit powerin a connection point must not be
included in a PEN conductor in a TN system.
