1. GENERAL INFORMATION eProWallbox is an Alternate Current charging solution for powering electric vehicles and hybrid plug-ins, and is ideal for semi-public and residential use. The device is available in three-phase or single-phase configurations and is equipped with a Type 2 socket. The device charges an electric vehicle up to 22kW in three-phase, or up to 7.4 kW in single-phase. The product includes connectivity options that allow it to be monitored remotely via Web-based portal. The device can be managed via a dedicated App. This model is equipped with a SIM card for connection to the 4G mobile network. This document describes how to use and maintain the product. A description of the features of the equipment is provided to indicate its key components and set out the technical terms used in this manual. This chapter contains information on models, details of equipment, specifications and technical data, overall dimensions and identification of the equipment.
2. ESOLUTIONS CHARGING APP Charging is a smartphone app, available via Google Play ® and App Store ® . It can be eSolutions used to configure, monitor and set eProWallbox via a Bluetooth connection. When running the app for the first time, users are asked to provide personal details to register and create a Free2Move eSolutions account. Personal data and profile settings can be changed in-app.
2.1. Pairing between eProWallbox and app The app authenticates and pairs via a QR Code, linking eProWallbox to the owner’s user account. This pairing enables all remote features, such as data collection, display and analysis, as well as seamless customer support. It is possible to pair more than one eProWallbox. The “Device List” menu allows users to manage all their wallboxes from a single page. It is possible to configure a Wi-Fi connection for eProWallbox via the App.
2.2. Charging sessions EV drivers have full control of their charging sessions wherever they are. Users can access core charging session control features, such as: Start the charging sessions via app Stop, delay and schedule charging sessions Monitor the status and progress of each charging session in real-time Receive notifications when charging sessions start and end. Over-the-air software update.
2.3. RFID card management The new eSolutions App enables RFID card management. Users can associate RFID cards to their own accounts. The card can be scanned via the phone camera, or by manually entering the card identifier on the back of the card. Through the relevant section of the app, it is possible to activate, suspend, or delete cards associated with the account.
3. OVERALL VIEW Let’s start by looking at the Figure below, showing eProWallbox and its main parts. RFID Reader Base External Cover Type 2 Socket 3.1. RFID authentication The RFID reader enables authentication with the RFID card included in the package (or others supplied by Free2Move eSolutions S.p.A.). Follow the instructions in the app section to configure the RFID Authentication mode. First, turn on the eProWallbox; autostart mode is selected.
4. TURNING ON EPROWALLBOX The device does not have start/stop buttons. Once installed, it is ready to be configured via App. This allows the appropriate operating mode to be selected, depending on whether connection to the charge point management centre is via the app or in StandAlone mode, when the following conditions are fulfilled: correct installation, certified by qualified personnel regular status of the device. Once the device has been powered up, the display will not turn on immediately. This can take up to one minute. Danger of electric shock when the device is damaged. Use of a damaged device is strictly forbidden. If the device is damaged, follow the instructions below precisely to hazardous situations, potentially resulting in damage to persons or things: avoid using the damaged device clearly label the damaged device so other people do not use it call a qualified professional promptly so the device can be repaired or, if irreparably damaged, taken out of service.
4.1. Operating mode Different operating modes are available on eProWallbox. Each one can be selected using the app, as described in the following section: Autostart connected (default Factory setting): Connected to Free2Move control platform for charging without using an RFID or Remote Start via the App Autostart not connected: Not connected to Free2Move control platform and charging without using an RFID card or Remote Start via the App Authentication connected: Connected to Free2Move control platform, charging using authorized RFID card or Remote Start via the App Authentication not connected: Not connected to Free2Move control platform, charging using authorized RFID card or Remote Start via the App...
5. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE 5.1. Preliminary charging operations During the entire charging process, DO NOT remove the charging connector from the electric vehicle. Only remove the charging connector from the vehicle when charging operations have ended, or have been halted following the appropriate procedure. In either case, undue force must not be used. Removing the charging connector from the vehicle during the charging process can cause serious damage to property or people. Before starting a new charging session: Ensure the product and its connectors are perfectly intact, dry and free of any impurities. Do not insert fingers or objects into the socket. Make sure the product is not, and has not been, exposed to heat sources, explosive or inflammable substances. Ensure the electric vehicle is compatible with the product’s technical features. ...
5.2. How to start charging (without authentication) If eProWallbox is configured with Autostart Operating Mode as the default setting, the following operations must be performed: The display of the wallbox must be in “Idle Mode” – ready for charging. Insert the plug of the charging cable into the available socket on the device, until it is fully engaged. Insert the plug of the Type 2 cable in the Charge Port of the electric vehicle. If a fault error appears on the Wallbox display, please unplug the cables and consult the Error List. The device will lock the cable for the duration of the entire charging session.
5.3. How to charge with authentication Charging can be accessed in two additional modes if the Authentication Operating Mode is configured with an RFID swipe card or via app. Proceed as per the instructions provided in the previous point, until the cable is inserted (step 3). Pass the user RFID card over the appropriate area, or start remotely via app. Charge the vehicle. When charging is complete or the charging process needs to be stopped, press the “Stop” button on the wallbox display of the device. Alternatively, the user must swipe the RFID user card over the designated area to allow the socket in use to be unlocked and end the charging session. The charging process can be halted remotely via app. The charging cable can then be removed from the device and from the electric vehicle.
5.4. Display flow Welcome message. If the Authentication Operating Mode is configured, this display will indicate that to start charging, you need to authorise the wallbox via RFID or app. Authorisation successful. 5.5. Error screens Error displayed when RFID or app authentication failed. Wait a few seconds, then try again. Error displayed when the wallbox is ready for charging but the cable is not inserted correctly. Error screen. 6. MAINTENANCE Before carrying out any maintenance work, turn the power supply of the device off, and disconnect it from the electric vehicle. Only qualified personnel can open the eProWallbox and carry out operations on the components. The user does not need to maintain any parts of the eProWallbox. A damaged or defective appliance must not be used in any way, but must immediately be replaced or repaired by qualified professionals, in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Cleaning the outside of the device is always recommended when necessary, and should be carried out avoiding strong jets of air or water, and avoiding use of soaps or detergents that are too harsh and corrosive for the materials the product is made of. Use a soft damp cloth with a mild detergent to clean it. When finished, wipe off any traces of moisture or liquid with a soft dry cloth.
